Experimental tests and numerical simulations of ballistic impact on laminated glass

In this study, we investigate double-laminated glass plates under ballistic impact through experimental tests and numerical simulations. The are used to determine the limit velocity curve for laminated targets, create a basis comparison with We tested two different pane configurations: (1) one plate, (2) layers of separated by an airgap. finite element simulations that employed higher order elements 3D node splitting predict residual velocities bullets in experiments. Node enabled modelling fracture separation was parts. material models PVB parts were simplified, but predictions proved be excellent agreement results.
